Lay & Wheeler appointed us to work with them to give their brand a full overhaul through. We have great experience in managing and evolving traditional brands, so it was a match made in heaven. Our approach was to get a good, clear understanding of the brand and where they wanted to go. From here, we worked out how to represent this visually and set about creating a series of ‘checkpoints’ along the evolutionary path to ensure the progress was unveiled gradually without alienating existing customers.
The first year was about keeping consistency in the visual identity, this was essential in creating brand recognition and maximising the impact of both online and offline communications.
