Good50×70 Charity Poster Competition
Category OtherBy Sarah On June 30th 2010
Farrows have entered two poster designs into the good50x70 charity poster competition. It is an annual contest, confronting 7 critical issues affecting today’s world, each endorsed by a different charity.
Darrell chose the WWF brief, which is designed to raise public awareness of the tiger's plight against extinction. The theme was the Year of the Tiger and Darrell found this inspired him to produce two very contrasting, yet striking designs that we are very proud of.
The competition has had nearly 2500 entries from 163 countries around the world. The best 30 responses to each brief will be collected in a catalogue and exhibited around the world. The real ‘winners’ will be the charities who can use any of the posters for use as potential communication tools. We eagerly await news on the results.

Royal Warrant Football Tournament 2010
Category SocialBy Will F On June 18th 2010
This year again we entered the Royal Warrant Holders Football Tournament. The tournament was again held at The Royal Chelsea Hospital Grounds and as usual we semi fancied our chances (good old British optimism).
We didn't start particularly well in the group stages losing 1-0 in a tight encounter with PAYE, however we followed up with two wins against Rokill and Taylor Pearce. This left us second in our group with 6 points and as a result a knockout tie against Toye, Kenning & Spencer. The knockout game was close, however TK&S snuck a goal and we couldn't find an equaliser, again another tight encounter but one which left us knocked out and packing our bags.
The eventual winners were Calor Gas Ltd. who beat DHL in the final. No one has managed to retain this prestigious trophy as yet- we'll be back next year to try again...

This week we attended the BITC East of England Awards Gala Dinner at Hengrave Hall. The awards were developed specifically so that companies in the region can be recognised for their good work in society no matter how large or small.
As sponsors, we designed all the marketing material, case study booklet and presentation for the event.
We also gave away branded mints across all tables!

Since re-branding Harvest Food's as Raven's Den Fine Foods, we have been working with them to promote their new name and their delicious handmade pies.
To announce the name change our illustration and design team utilised the new branding to create this leaflet. The look and feel will be carried over everything from labels to t-shirts.
Raven's Den will be at the Taste of London show (Regent's Park) next week, where they will be selling their tasty pies and showcasing the new banners and signage we produced for them.

Howes Percival Advertising
Category BusinessBy Will F On June 9th 2010
The new Howes Percival advertising campaign has been 'kicked off', with the first advert featured in today's EDP business section.
The creative concept of utilising words to create shapes, relating to quality statements describing Howes Percival, has been carried across a number of different adverts. These will be in the EDP business section over the next few months. By keeping the bold colour palette of the Howes Percival branding, the adverts are designed to have strong impact and visibility.
