Witham Oil & Paint Mailer
Category Business
By Sarah On July 30th 2010

To promote the New Soham Decorating Centre, for fellow Royal Warrant holders Witham Oil & Paint, we created an eye-catching Mailer.

We initially carried out a site visit and extensive research into the Witham Group. We presented a number of creative concepts exploring different possibilities for functionality and usage. Taking into consideration the target audience, we wanted to engage with customers both old and new.

The final 'Paint Swatch' design echoed a 'paint chart' style. Illustrations were proposed and chosen over photography for this project, giving a unique approach for the product imagery.

We retained the Witham's existing branding with a strong colour palette and overall 'British' style. The mix of the metal screw finishing and white illustrations lend themselves perfectly to this contemporary yet traditional style. Both ourselves and the client were very happy with the finished result.

Good50×70 Charity Poster Competition
Category Other
By Sarah On June 30th 2010

Farrows have entered two poster designs into the good50x70 charity poster competition. It is an annual contest, confronting 7 critical issues affecting today’s world, each endorsed by a different charity.

Darrell chose the WWF brief, which is designed to raise public awareness of the tiger's plight against extinction. The theme was the Year of the Tiger and Darrell found this inspired him to produce two very contrasting, yet striking designs that we are very proud of.

The competition has had nearly 2500 entries from 163 countries around the world. The best 30 responses to each brief will be collected in a catalogue and exhibited around the world. The real ‘winners’ will be the charities who can use any of the posters for use as potential communication tools. We eagerly await news on the results.

Working with Avon Cosmetics we were asked to re-design the Kids bath time range.

Avon wanted the Kids range to be more engaging for both child and parent, with a fun and friendly feel, featuring the same character across the 6 products.

The project included; initial hand scamps and colour drawings through to final 3D rendering of the 6 Monkey characters, Kids logo and fragrant icons, as well as the overall look and feel. We also provided design consultation regarding the bottle and cap colours.

You can view the range from the Avon website

Almary Green Brochure
Category Business
By Sarah On February 2nd 2010

We have recently started working with Almary Green Financial Advisers.  Top of the list was to freshen up their branding. As a well established name it was important to be sympathetic when changing the way the company looks whilst ensuring we were making enough of a difference for it to be noticeable.

Straight after the branding, came the brochure.  For this we created a compact book which summarises Almary Green's offerings (see below).

More to follow in coming weeks...

True's Yard is all that remains of King's Lynn's old fishing community, the North End, which existed for hundreds of years.

We have worked closely with the team at True's Yard Museum to help them refresh their lobby area and the first exhibition room. We made the spaces much brighter and more informative for visitors with the design and installation of new information boards. We also worked with the museum to create fresh window graphics and commissioned new carpentry to support a large 3D model of the North End.

Nick and I attended the Business in the Community Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday night. We were asked to enter the Mills & Reeve Pro Bono Company of the Year award, to celebrate our charity work.

Philip Jepson gave a speech at the dinner about Norfolk Venda, which was well received and will hopefully help to further enhance the charity's fund raising potential.

It was an enjoyable evening, made even more enjoyable by the fact we won the award for our charity work with 'The Norfolk Venda Educational Project' and 'The Big C'.
